Audio Production
Joe de Georgeo and Ian McKenna: Star of the North
Working with two young Twin Cities-based Irish traditional musicians, in conjunction with the Center for Irish Music’s Taking Flight Collective initiative. This acclaimed album was recorded, mixed, mastered and co-produced by Atlantic Arts director Danny Diamond. The project necessitated working in a manner sensitive to the needs of young musicians in their first recording studio experience, and also working to the specific remit of achieving a warm and naturalistic representation of their music.
Recording in The Hideaway Studios, NE Minneapolis (Macklemore, Policia, Snoop Dogg) was followed by mixing, mastering, and assistance with CD printing and digital distribution.

Eoin McKiernan Library: photographic collection
Work involves cataloging, processing, and showcasing a photographic collection donated to the Eoin McKiernan Library, St Paul, MN. Along with curation of online and in-person exhibits of selected materials from the collection, this ongoing project also involves development of code tools to expedite and automate tasks such as: metadata extraction, reformatting and pre-population of catalog records, creation of derivative copies for public access.

Ongoing institutional consultancy with the Center for Irish Music in St Paul, MN, the US Midwest’s largest Irish music school. Areas of work include grant writing, programming, institutional strategy, DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion), and consulting on audio-visual tech solutions.

Irish Traditional Music Archive: The Andy Dickson Collection
A digital archiving collaboration with the Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA), a state-funded music archive and reference library in Dublin, Ireland. Running from 2021-2024, the project focused on development of an automatic ingest pipeline for a collection of ~2,500 digital music scores. Technical work involved development of Python scripts to extract and reformat metadata from digital scores, automatic generation of derivative copies in multiple formats, and preparation of digital materials for bulk ingest into ITMA’s web CMS and catalog systems. The work also involved project management, coordination and recording of musical performances, and writing contextual blog content to showcase the materials to a general audience.

University of Galway: Music from Weather
A collaboration with Brian Wall and Prof. Mathieu d’Aquin of the University of Galway, Galway, Ireland on algorithmic composition of music in response to weather data. Work involved devising algorithmic rules for creation of musical outputs in response to wind speed and barometric pressure data inputs. Digital music scores were produced, which were performed and recorded as audiovisual outputs, and showcased at the Galway Science and Technology Festival, 2020.
